Biography
Terria Smith is an enrolled tribal member of the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians who received a graduate degree in journalism from the University of California Berkeley in the spring of 2012. She earned her bachelors degree from Humboldt State University in 2008. Terria has had previous internships as a Chips Quinn Scholar with Ventura County Star newspaper as well as on the national desk at NPR West. She spent almost two years working as a reporter for The Desert Sun newspaper. Terria is an award-winning journalist and has been a member of the Native American Journalist Association for the past seven years. This summer she worked as a Native American Public Telecommunications multimedia intern at KVCR/FNX television network.
