As Marketing Director for NAPT, I serve as the liaison between producers, vendors and the organization. I manage the details of each marketing project, ensuring that deadlines, budgets and technical specifications are met while projects move from concept to completion.
I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communications degree. I am also a Vice President on the board of the American Marketing Association-Lincoln, NE chapter for the Prism Awards. I've volunteered numerous times with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, the American Red Cross and JDRF. Prior to NAPT, I served as an Account Coordinator at Swanson Russell, a Life Insurance Representative for Lincoln Benefit Life, a subsidiary of Allstate, and managed and designed newsletters and web sites for Lincoln Public Schools. I also was an on-air talent for The Broadcast House. A former swim coach, I'm a fish out of water – returning to the pool anytime I can.
I am a native american producer. I work as the Media Coordinator for the UAIC in northern California. I co-produced, "California's Lost Tribes" and produced, narrated and edited, "River of Renewal"
My background is in both producing and training media. I started at WGBH-Boston working in television and then added public radio to my experience. I've been a mentor/trainer for NPR's Next Generation Radio projects for 10 years - specializing in audio recording and mixing. Through that program I became a mentor for the Native American Journalists Association student projects. I'm currently a freelance Broadcast Engineer for KQED-Radio in San Francisco.
I'm also a videographer/editor working for new media startups here in the Bay Area. I own and operate a Sony PMW-EX1 XDCAM HD camera, as well as edit in Final Cut Studio and Adobe's Production Suite.
In addition I'm an indie film Cinematographer. I have several short films to my credit, as well as two feature-length productions where I was Director of Photography.
I have been creating programming about Native tribes across the country. Much of my work is specifically designed for the classroom and even includes links for teachers to help structure lessons. The most important part of my job is to listen to what our people say is important to them,” My most recent radio program, Monacan Voices, includes traditional Native storytelling, poetry and conversation with the Monacan people. I see no end in sight regarding new and exciting stories that will come out of the Native people here in Virginia and across the country. There is a lot of Native history that is not included in the classroom it really belongs there and I am trying to do something about that one program at a time.
I've been producing documentaries for the past 35 years, mostly in Indian Country, but lately, I've been doing a lot of work on several projects that will look at education in America. My wife, Jamie and I, have a small press called Many Kites Press where we produce Films, Books and music with an emphasis on the Global family, creating, and the natural human ability for learning. Lately, I've been doing a lot of web work, specifically working with Show In A Box TV - creating a whole new way of showing video on the web.
