JOB OBJECTIVE: This position manages a medium sized software development team in an Agile environment to create and maintain hosted services and online web presence for PBS Interactive.

Example projects include OpenID-based login system, TV schedule listing data management, video streaming services, metadata API systems, and mobile application development.

Products developed should be resilient to hurricanes and earthquakes, able to scale up to millions of hits per day, and well documented so others can maintain and enhance. Technologies involve Python, Django, Linux, and MySQL.

Candidates should be enthusiastic to take ownership for complex projects and responsibility for the outcome.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Day to day management of multiple Agile software development teams
Writing bulletproof Python code for a number of Django projects
Collaborate with architects to design robust, resilient, and fast web services
Peer reviewing code written by team to ensure alignment to best practices
Work with Product Managers to guide strategic and tactical direction of PBSi applications
Track projects and schedules to deliver on time
Communicate to stakeholders on subjects such as timelines, features, and training
