Way of the Warrior
Coming to PBS Nov. 1

Edward DeNomie, WWIThe warrior has a special place in Native American communities. Those who protect are exalted throughout Indian Country. Way of the Warrior explores how Native communities have traditionally viewed their warriors and why, during the 20th century, Native men and women have signed up for military service at a rate three times higher than non-Indians.

Produced by Patty Loew, Wisconsin Public Television, Way of the Warrior premieres on PBS on Nov. 1. Check local listings for air dates and times in your area, or visit the PBS Station Finder.
The Creek Runs Red
On Independent Lens Nov. 20

Alex White Plume (Lakota)"It gets in your blood," says a resident of Picher, OK about his sense of hometown pride. His words, however, take on a powerful irony in this documentary about the toxic legacy of Picher's lead mining industry.

Since their town was declared a Superfund site in 1981, Picher's residents have been forced to choose between preserving their image of the American dream and preserving their health. The Creek Runs Red carries us into the heart of this sharply divided community to reveal with extraordinary intimacy and insight the full human tragedy of environmental catastrophe

Presented by NAPT and ITVS, The Creek Runs Red is co-produced and directed by Julianna Brannum (Comanche), Bradley Peesley and James Payne. Check local listings for air dates and times in your area, or visit the PBS Station Finder.

Dustinn Craig
Dustinn Craig's voice is cracking and he is having a hard time getting the words out.  Five minutes into the film "I Belong to This" Craig, the focus of the film, is breaking down into tears.  The emotion draws in the audience and it becomes evident that this isn't a normal, informative documentary.
